The nutritional objective of this recipe is to promote cardiac function in cases of chronic heart failure.

When we talk about heart disease, we are talking about the set of diseases or problems that affect the heart. These can be problems derived from a malformation or, directly, caused by diseases.

Within these, we can find different etiologies, whether acquired, congenital, valvular, ischemic or cardiomyopathies. Regardless of its nature, there is nutritional treatment for those patients suffering from chronic heart failure, a disease for which a dedicated PNP is contemplated.

It is also common to find retrograde or congestive CHF, in which the ventricle is not able to pump blood sufficiently, which generates an increase in pressure and retention of water and Sodium. This, in turn, causes a worsening of their condition.

This pathology can occur in any dog. Thus, when it occurs in large and giant breeds it is due to muscle dilation, while when it appears in mini breeds it is usually due to premature degeneration of the heart valves. We must not forget that it can occur as a secondary disease in renal patients with CKD. It is a disease easily identifiable by its symptoms: panting, coughing, fatigue, cyanosis in the mucous membranes, gums, ...

In this case, nutritional management includes a limited sodium content for its control and for fluid retention that, at the same time, includes beneficial properties for maintaining kidney function. Although CHF can occur as a result of CKD, the treatment of the former by means of medications and diuretics makes it necessary to control the kidneys and urinary tract. In this sense, the incorporation of probiotics is directly beneficial in this aspect, so a combination has been sought that helps in kidney function, although it should not be forgotten that PSA can be managed nutritionally and that, according to a pilot study, the use and combination of different probiotic strains is beneficial in cardiac patients. This is because intestinal health is directly related to CHF, especially PSA, intestinal dysbiosis and kidney function.

That is, it endorses the concept of the organism as an interrelated whole in which the use of ingredients and functional foods is not only beneficial in independent systems.
